Welcome! Read Alone by Google!

On the may 7, 2020, Google developers opened access to download the new mobile app Read Along, which helps primary school students improve their reading technique and stay in education during the pandemic.

The updated product for Android was based on Google Bolo. It launched in India in 2019 with a list of stories in English and Hindi. One of the innovations, support for nine languages, allows users around the globe to use the app.

Like its predecessor, the Read Along app uses a voice recognition system and converts text to speech. This helps to improve the development of reading techniques in children.

The service has a built-in assistant Diya. If the child has difficulty reading a sentence, there is a word that the child does not know, then Diya is able to help the child. You can call the assistant at any time.

During the progress progress within Rad Along, the child can take part in mini-games, get prizes and continue to develop their skills.

Use of the app is available without Wi-Fi access and personal identification. The received voice data is checked and analyzed online on Google servers. The developers of the new service decided to abandon the idea of using prepared children's voices, which allowed to improve the quality of the product.

Using the Internet, parents can download new stories from the Internet for free. The app itself does not have internal advertising.

When you install the app, Read Along contains 500 stories, and the list of stories is constantly growing with new stories.

Bolo was released to the markets in March 2019. Reviews of the app were positive, which contributed to the development of the product and improvement of its functional qualities. In India, Bolo is known as an app that helps you speak. Google developers have redesigned Bolo and the new product allows parents to read books together with their children. Books were added, games were developed for the service, and numerous interface reworkings were added.

Read Along can be downloaded by users all over the world, except:
  • Philippines;
  • Danishes;

The service contains stories in various languages, including:
  • English;
  • Spanish;
  • Telugu;

The app is intended for children over 5 years old. You can install the app via Google Play.
