Various literature is an essential companion of any training. LightSail helps anyone who wants to make it easier to find the right materials and read them.

What is LightSail For

LightSail is an app for easy reading of materials in English. It allows you to:

  • quickly find and open interesting books or collections by subject;
  • change the size and number of displayed text;
  • view detailed statistics and more.

LightSail works in the Google Chrome browser, so you can use it whenever you are online.

Easy Reading With LightSail

After installing the app you just need to log in to LightSail to get access to the necessary materials using your username and password or one of the social networks. Then, to find the books you are interested in, just click on the magnifying glass icon. In the line that appears, enter the name of the literature or subject, for example, medicine or phsychology. After that, you will see a selection of books on the topic. Hover over one of them and click "Read" to start reading.

Settings and Tunes of Service

LightSail standard allows you to change the display of text when reading. This is especially convenient for those who are learning English or trying to read the first materials in the original language. For such people, the multi-line reading mode is perfect. You can enable it by clicking on the book icon in the upper-right corner.

The settings window allows you to change the displayed text in detail to suit your own needs. You can edit the letter size, font, background color, and other parameters. LightSail also has a built-in text-to-speech function that can be customized for you, for example, when reading on a laptop with a 15.6" screen diagonal, it is convenient to display five lines with the largest font size or use the Google voice service.

Detailed Statistics

During training, especially in languages, it is quite important to understand how much material was read during the day. When you open the Dashboard tab, you will find various statistics: the number of words and pages read per day, week, month, and year. You can find this information in the right menu of the app. In addition to information about the materials read, the service shows the number of correct answers to test questions.

Audio

Direct reading is not always convenient, but it is necessary to learn the material effectively. In this case, use the built-in audio playback function. To do this, use the icon with three dots in the upper-right corner, select the language and voice, and then click on the blue circle on the left.

You can configure the playback speed, text highlighting if you want to follow the voice, and other parameters for convenience.
